QUESTÃO 01 – Read the excerpts below:
TEXT I
Words for feelings and emotions are often uncountable, but there are several words we can use to talk about individual instances or small amounts of them. Some indicate positive emotions, for example, a burst of enthusiasm or energy, a glimmer/ray of hope or happiness, and a tingle of excitement:
In a burst of enthusiasm, I joined a gym.
The vaccine has given us a glimmer of hope at last.

making-uncountable-nouns-countable-2/).
TEXT II
When we talk about the activity that happens in a building rather than about the building itself, we don’t use “the”. Compare:
When I was at school, we didn’t have computers. (At school means being there as a student).
When I was at the school, I saw my Math teacher. (At the school means being in the building).

Languages are not fixed and do not have unchangeable rules. Texts I and II are examples of how context can change the game completely: it is possible to transform uncountable nouns into countable, and change the meaning of a sentence by using or omitting an article.
Write about the articles in the English language: describe how they are usually used and explain at least one situation in which the context changes the “standard uses”. Give examples different than the ones in texts I and II – the excerpts were only meant to make the topic clearer.
